EMBARK ON
I am so moved and overjoyed to begin this year of change and great promise with an invitation to both ground you and open your heart. Nothing is more important than staying aligned with the fundamental joy, peace, passion and energy of compassion that is your essential divine nature.
In literature and spiritual traditions, 40 days and 40 nights is the timespan that brings about transformation. In that spirit, I have designed what I am calling A Prayer Journey for the Soul that spans that mystical number and engages its power, and I invite you to walk its path.
This prayer journey spans the traditional time of Lent and ends in the rapture of the Resurrection. Traditionally, Lent was a time of simplifying and purifying one’s life, offering up one’s wounds, fears and traumas for healing, exposing one’s deepest shadows to transformative grace and emptying oneself out, to help you receive the truth of that grace more fully.
As you will see, each day has two prayers—one in the morning and one in the evening. I suggest that you devote a half hour each morning and evening as follows:
Have a journal ready before the journey begins, so that after this half-hour practice you can note whatever has arisen in you—whatever fear or aspiration—so that by the end of 40 days and 40 nights, you will have a deeply personal daily record of what happened that will serve again and again as an inspiration as you continue your spiritual journey.
At the end of this prayer journey, I will offer two optional integration sessions. I strongly recommend them because nothing is more wonderful or deeply helpful than sharing the feelings and insights you have experienced with others who have been on the same journey. For my own part, I love these sessions because they give me the opportunity to engage with you in a more focused way to be what help I can as precisely and individually as possible.
I love them also because they remind me how many sincere and passionate seekers there are, and this is what I wish for you—this sense of solidarity with all those who love and want to serve God in this immensely challenging time. We need both our deepest and most solitary connection with grace as well as an ever-deeper connection to others and the grace that comes through them. I hope that our integration sessions will be feasts of depth and truth that we will both be able to nourish ourselves from, to do our own unique work ahead.
Two live online integration sessions:
April 10 11am ET / 8am PT
April 17 11am ET / 8am PT
My dearest friends, please join me on this mystical prayer journey inspired by all the spiritual traditions and designed in this time of great change to give you all the strength and inspiration you will need. I bow to you and I love you.
Let us begin this deep journey into our souls.
