This celebratory 3-day retreat is designed to awaken and stoke the power of your heart fire. With two connoisseurs of passionate living, Andrew Harvey, longtime scholar of the world's mystic traditions, and Shiva Rea, yogini and global adventurer, you will explore the ancient marriage of the yoga of the illumined body with the mysticism of the awakened heart.
Yoga was created by the ancient sages of India as a healing and transforming gift for the entire world. In the spirit of that tradition, Heart Yoga offers the union of grounded passion and peaceful joy both in the heart and in the core of the body, a union that is needed to stay creative and strong in these chaotic and challenging times. Heart Yoga is a direct path to radical self-empowerment, fueling us to practice Sacred Activism, acting with sacred passion in the world.
From the first evening when we ignite the communal fire, the spontaneous and ecstatic will flourish as we embody Heart Yoga through integrating the practices and philosophy of tantra, hatha, and bhakti yoga with the latest scientific views of our hearts intelligence. Morning asana sessions will be divided into two levels: all levels and intermediate through teacher. Afternoon and evening sessions will include poetic feasts, an outdoor fire ceremony, Yoga Trance Dance, and kirtan to liberate the rasa, or liquid love of the heart.
Note These programs sell out quickly; please register early. Tuition includes a manual. This program can be applied toward Shiva Rea's 200- and 500-hour Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training Certification (Yoga Alliance-registered). More information available at www.shivarea.com.
